The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) periodically conducts national quantitative surveys among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bulgaria to gather up-to-date information on the state of the sector, key business challenges, and the expectations of these enterprises.
The survey aims to explore the views of SME managers on issues critical to the development of the small and medium-sized business sector—including the national regulatory environment, the status and development of the enterprises, their level of internationalization, and other operational aspects.
The findings will serve as a basis for analyzing the current status and needs of Bulgarian SMEs. They will also assist BSMEPA in developing measures to foster the growth of these enterprises and in formulating recommendations for relevant state institutions.
The survey addresses the following key objectives:
To examine the views of SME representatives regarding the impact of the national regulatory environment on their business operations;
To assess the status of the enterprises, including their technological level and innovation activity;
To determine the extent of SME internationalization and its role in achieving sustainable growth;
To identify the primary challenges enterprises face in their operations, as well as their requirements for a workforce with various educational qualifications. BSMEPA recognizes the importance of the views of business representatives in shaping effective policies and measures to support small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Agency relies on the active participation of Bulgarian enterprises and their cooperation for the successful conduct of the survey.
